I still don't get it, beside Sites that get abandoned and more quests chances in Adventurer Mode, what are the differences you actually get to feel (mainly in fortress mode)?

1)Less actual megabeasts, since more have been killed
2)Many more necromancers
3)More werebeasts/vampires
4)Civilizations have more time to spread so there is a better chance of getting one with access to more stuff (material wise).
5)Dwarves have larger families, so there is more chance of them brining grandparents/grandchildren along

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

In older worlds, many immigrants have some military skills.

And there's some minor stuff like higher chances for a non-dwarven monarch or more interesting engravings.

I wonder if the game has become odd.

It can also affect the skills of migrants. Most civs that aren't isolated will eventually go to war, and if that war was pretty recent to your embark, then you'll see many more soldier immigrants. Some historical figures will also gain substantial skill over time before migrating, so things like legendary milkers and such may show up in an older world. Checking the dwarven civs in legends mode before embarking is a good way of seeing which will have more skilled civilians/more numerous soldiers.
