Marksdwarfs can't keep their eliteness...
« on: February 09, 2013, 04:42:55 pm »

So I've got a necromancer in a pen set up to train crossbows, but every time I move my squads from the training area to the areas I want them to guard, they briefly revert to their civilian professions, then go back to being Marksdwarfs, even if they were supposed to be Elite Marksdwarfs. Is there any way to make them not do that?

Not that I know of. It's a bug that Dwarf lords forget their elite status on occasion. A more benign and slightly beneficial bug really, in that if a Dwarf does not call themself elite or lord they keep their preferred job professions that are enabled, enabled. Meaning a legendary soldier that works civilian jobs when off duty, which is nice.

It seems they start caring about long patrol duty again, which is less good.
