PlayersWilliam Hasburn
After a few years of working as a chemist and informatician (many degrees...) for some of the more official parts of Cobol, William Hasburn received close attention from the corporation when he broke into the bank account of a millionaire for his own profits. Although he ultimately failed, he got far enough to receive a promotion where his skills would be more appreciated.

The ScenarioYou are employees of Cobol Industries, a mining consortium based in South Africa. Cobol regularly conducts industrial espionage through highly illegal dream theft, using military grade dream machines to infiltrate the subconscious of targets through shared lucid dreaming and steal secrets out of their heads; anything from blackmail material to computer passwords to high security clearance codes.
Much of your work is assigned to you by Cobol; such missions are moderately well paid and mandatory. Far more lucrative are the occasional freelance missions you can take, which Cobol allows so long as they do not interfere with business.
