You lose some control over dwarves that have gotten on the wrong side of your civ. I can't remember what you lose, but it may not be as simple as ordering the offending dwarves into a small room with a door.

IIRC, loyalty cascade sufferers will still obey burrows, and can be ordered to stand position. They can't effectively do labors or party though, because they cause other dwarves to flip out on sight.

Loyalty cascaded dwarves cannot keep each other company. They will murder each other on sight, since they retain the civ tag, as well as the enemy tag.  If you want to keep the dwarf, solitary confinement is the only way.

Most people arrange unfortunate accidents, or assign suicide missions.

Science experiment!

If you take a married couple, draft the female, and have her assasinate the trade liason, then place her in the isolation unit, what happens when she has babies?

Aww.... I really liked the fort. Losing is really fun though. A dwarf is dying ever 3 seconds. :D
