It's not time consuming to select demi-god and put all points into Axedwarf.  If we actually had to train them, i'd be fine with it.

The only benefit is that you can make a dorf with high attributes. Skills are not that important if you go exploiting: just make a DR and train the shittons of dwarves to legendary axedorf/shield user/armor user/dodger in a year. You wont get such a skills even with demigod char.

The possibilities of this game creates a lot of exploitable features. It's only you to decide what you do and what you don't. You can use plants as a food, but others can call it "exploit" because of uberproductivity of farms. you can use cage traps, but someone can call it an abuse of game mechanics: dragon cannot be held in a birch cage. Or bowgod can shoot dwarves even from inside the cage. If you want, you can even mod the game to increase or decrease difficulty.

So, if you see an exploit somewhere, it's up to you will you use it or not. You shouldn't be pissed off if others will use it.

The first small thing that made me feel awesome was my indoor waterfall. A few minutes later though, it started flooding my fort so I felt less awesome.
