Cage questions
« on: November 25, 2007, 08:20:00 pm »

Are cages with creatures inside movable without freeing the creature?

If so, are cages with creatures dump-able (garbage), or is there some way I could move a particular cage with a creature inside to a channel (to drop it in of course!)?

If so, will a caged creature falling 8 z-levels be damaged when it impacts 4 menacing spikes? Will the cage break/open?

Thanks, I know it's a lot   :)

Yes

designate the channel as a garbage dump(using ) and then use [k] to view the cage and mark it for dumping.

I have no idea, but it will be fun to find out.  :D

However if you try to move a hostile creature in a cage to the trade depot it will get released and run rampant.

Here's what's happened:

1. I've put a dying war dog in the cage

2. I'll post what happens when dog drops (8 z levels)

3. It's not cruel! It's dyin' and in pain!  :D

instead of killing your damaged war dog have some "animal care" dwarves help it

they will become legendary
certainly more useful to your dwarves than that muskox you have over there

Alright, I've still got the dog, and I've got animal care labor on for a dwarf, but he's not doing anything...
