Keep at the traps and check them frequently, finally remember where you've placed all of your traps as rotting rat's in your attic would be unpleasant.
Yeah, I dread cleaning the little bastards out.  That will not be a fun day.

I don't think cats would work, these rats are probably big enough to put up a decent fight and possibly injure any domestic feline.

I'm going to put some rat traps up there tomorrow.  I haven't heard anything tonight though, so maybe the poison already got them.

Get a bigger cat then. How hard is it to find a bobcat where you live?

So many joke posts and yet no mention of magma ? Flood your attic with magma !

Poison mixed with grain should be fine if you have no children or animals you care about in your attic.

I heard them again last night, but I think they're fucked now.  I checked the bait I put out and every last kernel was gone and the trays were all chewed up.

Though rats can eat almost anything their constitution is rather weak. Hense toxins, that rats arn't outright immune to, are much more harmful to them then other animals.

As well they can't puke.
