Question about Fey Mood and Tanning.
« on: November 25, 2007, 08:05:00 am »

Hello everyone, I started playing this game a few days ago. The ropes has been fairly under control, but recently a tanner of mine entered a Fey Mood, and stood around outside. It took a while untill I figured out that I had to build a tanner's shop ON him before he could claim it, and now I'm having yet more problems: He screams for tanned hides.

So I had my butcher tan a camel's skin for him, but he just went ahead and threw it in the refuse pile. The skin in question is called "one-humped camel skin", which got me wonderning about two things: Either he wants another kind of skin, or it's not in the shape he wants it in (one-humped camel leather, for example.) Or is the skin already leatherfied?

Thanks in advance

If it's a "skin" or "hide" rather than "leather", it has not been tanned.

Raw hides rot fairly quickly - you may not have gotten to it in time (the [k] description will say "Rotten" if it has gone bad).
You need to get a non-rotten skin, and tan it.  If the mooding dwarf has claimed your only tanner's workshop, you will need to build another, and enable tanning for another dwarf.
