If it bothers you so much, you are free to download the source and update it yourself.

Wow you mean I can mod the curses games Toady One has? Like I can make maps and stuff in LCS and make people shoot fireballs and fight dragons?

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

KA101 also overhauled the Dep. Store, so it isn't as useless anymore! :D
But yeah, you guys gotta be more liberal!

That is nothing.  LCS usually goes about a year between updates.  Relax everyone.  I'm sure LCS isn't forgotten.

(For the record: I do all my XML editing using Notepad++.  Recommended.)

Hmm.  Fox noted that he made the map-design more Liberally Accessible with this DAME thing linked in the sticky-thread.  Took a look and I'm wondering what's entailed in getting the game to recognize/use new maps.

Corp HQ seems equally suitable for a multi-story building Downtown.  Wouldn't need a car (and indeed one might stealLiberate a getaway car from the parking ramp) but having the Safes & perhaps even a Vault* only on the upper floors might be a better check on LCS mid-level Juicing.

*Hans Gruber & his gang Alienated Everyone** and weren't Liberal, besides.  I'm sure the LCS can do better.

**OK, maybe under LCS rules, all the people they shot (Takagi, the stoner, SWAT) were technically perma-Conservative.  Pretty confident the initial coralling would qualify as doing a crime in front of non-Conservatives though, as well as rocketing the SWAT ram.

I haven't forgotten, but I have been focused on other things, like this game.

With the current state of things, you'd have to recompile the game -- sitemap.cpp line 80 has the list of sites it will try to find the new type of maps for. I'll fix this with the next release so that all you need to do is drop an appropriately named map file in place. Unfortunately, I didn't make it so that the new map files support multiple Z-levels yet, but I'm adding that support as well.

I can't guarantee that you'll find map editing easy; I don't think anyone other than myself has tried it and reported their experiences, so I have no data points on that. I can guarantee it's a lot more easy than it used to be, however, since you can actually visually edit the map layout and place special tiles and things.
