Yes, for example we can punch creatures that are not in our tile, even while being a dwarf.

That is true, a dwarf doesn't have the one meter arm length to hit all sides of a tile.

2 meters since the oponent is at the center of the other tile.

Who said both players are at the center of their tile. The game doesn't track intile movement, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist for in universe reasons.

exactly my point. Therefore you donīt break tile distance if you strike someone in the next tile with a 2 meter spear (both may be at the edge of their tiles)

I think weapons beg for an overhaul. Maybe even total overhaul.

They need:
1. To have much more dimensions like length and width for different parts (Especially if weapon and armor damage would be implemented).
2. Calculated by game center of the mass so that there will be no need for speed multipliers.
3. Differentiation for swing and thrust attacks which will allow to remove penetration attribute and calculate it using weapon dimensions.
4. General combat overhaul to attacks, parries, blocks and other maneuvers to depend on weapon dimensions and balance.
5. Some modifiers to attack power calculation formulas for more consistence in correlation between contact area and resulting damage.

The RAW for a sword would be something like this:

For one I think that spears and Pikes deserve upgrades against huge creatures in the ability to reach their other body parts rather then bite at their heels.

Are we requesting a weapon overhaul arc? That would be beneficial to this discussion. Also, no one seems against these ideas.

That will happen, we just don't know when.

Most of this ideas are based on common sense. And i think many people would love their adventurer to have something like this:

This is a broadsword. Its steel blade is of fine quality. On the blade there is a picture of dwarf standing atop an elf corpse. Its steel guard is encrusted with diamonds. It has elf bone grip. It has lead pommel.

Especially if game will be able to notice difference between a sword with steel pommel and a lead one not only in description but in combat too.

Yes but lets say both characters have their attack ready. Thus they are ready to attack as quickly as they can swing the weapon and all they have to do is move into distance.

Thus one way to do it is to give the enemy weapon a speed penelty to represent the minut distances they have to cross to strike until they close the distance.

In otherwords the Spear gets the first attack.
Doesn't happen a lot. Won't happen much without spreading actions out over a few ticks.

Sounds neat.

It happens all the time. I never stay next to the opponent to let him get free swings at me.

Thats true. But it seems that after next update weapon speed and moving speed will be split up and time between attacks won't be so different for you and your opponent. At least for weapons with close to realistic weight.

A good way to represent length would be to give weapons a bonus to attack which will depend on how much your weapon longer than the weapon of your target.
If both combatants is in the same tile than the shorter weapon will get the bonus.

Under "bonus to attack" i mean a higher chance to hit enemy and penalty to his dodge but parries and blocks will rely on other modifiers (like difference in weapon weight, attack speed, balance of defenders weapon and size of the shield/weapon blocking/parrying).

In between your turn and your next one isn't one tick. It's several ticks, with an average creature's speed giving them 10 ticks between turns. That's one in ten, at simplest and probably highest estimates.
Which is exactly what I was saying.
