SDL Text Alignment (A question for Toady)
« on: December 12, 2012, 06:53:13 pm »

Toady, I was just wondering: To my knowledge, SDL is a solely graphics-based library. There is an extension for TTF, but it doesn't look particularly great for drawing lots and lots of perfectly-aligned ASCII graphics to the screen. Does DF use some kind of extension or modification to accommodate a PDCurses-like output?

The ascii is graphic images. There is true type font that can be enabled for most text, though some text doesn't use it. It's in the init options, and can be toggled via F11.
