A Necromancer pays a visit.

A Dwarf Fortress Story.  The Fortress of BoarMirrored in the Universe of Dawn, The year is 353.

The fortress was thriving, over a hundred dwarves making it their home.  There had been a few goblins trying to kidnap the fat children of the fortress and a few kobolds drawn by word that there was iron ore and lovely artifacts made from it within the walls.  Then the necromancers started to arrive.  The first to arrive was a dwarf, he walked into the trading depot and assaulted a dwarf as he hauled some of the stone blocks that were being used to construct the fortress.  Unfortunately for the necromancer the dwarf was a part of the miner militia and he cleaved the wizard's arm off with his pick, stone block still in the other hand.  The Necromancer reanimated his arm, but by the the militia had assembled, and despite the necromancer's other arm joining in as well., he was defeated.  2 more necromancers showed up as well, but they chose to wander about the parapets until they scuffled with masons and the miner militia cleaned them up.  One fell into the grazing pasture of the forts lone alpaca and splattered into bits.  He left behind a book "starting out with Human: Mortal or Immortal?"  It was, apparently, a beginner's guide to a book on necromancy.
