Deleting a thread is an expensive operation that locks several tables recursively. Deleting a bunch of users with no posts or messages isn't.

I might actually weep if that happened.
Although it might generate enough whatever phlebtonium I run on for me to break out and cause the end of creation, so maybe plus.
