Router-modem link 30 minutes

My computer connects fine directly, but the router usually takes a whole 30 minutes to link.

Why?

This used to happen before, and we have replaced the router and modem since.

I don't see a reason for it.

do you turn on both of them at the same time. Best way to do link ups is first you reset a router and leave it on then connect to the modem and then reset the modem. Whats the brand models for those?

What do you mean?  The computer connects to router fine, but router takes a while to connect to internet?

Best thing to do is leave router on at all times, turning it on and off all the time can cause issues as ISP adjusts line settings around if they think you are having constant disconnects.

It can make the connection worse in long run if there isnt an actual line issue/fault for all the disconnects.
