How well can enemies swim?
« on: November 14, 2012, 06:07:46 pm »

If I channel out a moat so it's only one tile deep, can they swim across it like my dwarves seem to be able to with rivers?

I want to make a surface moat that will keep enemies out (yes I'm aware flying will still get past) so should it be just 1 z-level deep or two?

I'm quite certain they can. Dig a couple levels down.

Like your dwarves, they won't path over it.
Mounts are a different problem, of course. I've always wanted to have a watery moat with a direct path to my meeting hall so that the mounts would drown their riders.
