First of all, there is only one misko.

Second of all, I was refering to foreigners in general. Militias, however, are very easy to insult, especially when run by the more extreme individuals, and especially when they run the entire country.

How were the cities in Somaliland? Why did you have to have a military escort?

Cities in Somaliland... not very big, 25% of the roads had tarmac, lots of sand/dirt otherwise. No supermarkets, but many little shops, some suqs/bazaars, and I dont really know how to describe it to someone who hasnt seen it. A bit like towns in egypt, the ones not on the tourist trail (so, no sharm)

Military escort, because the defacto inofficial goverment wants to be indepentend (like south sudan) and cant afford that anything happens to a foreigner. So they make extra sure. Was ok I guess, I got free rides/stays through that ^^

@misko27: Sorry, one answer was for you the other one for pitchblende. And about your answer: It is... very general. As in not specific/helpful. I was more looking for posts like: town X is fine, dont go to town Y, to get to area Z you need a permit, get it in tripoli, costs 40 dollars... something like that, like I said, comments from someone who has been there lately.

On the other hand, I found busses that go for 25 bucks frpm Tunis to Tripoli, so it cant be that bad. Maybe I even get company, a girl wanted to come with me by bicycle (she cycled alone from egypt to germany, so she's fine) but she doesnt have that much time.
