Hunting, butchery, hauling and refuse problem.
« on: November 11, 2012, 02:35:42 pm »

1) Hunter kills something
2) Hunter takes corpse to Butchers
3) Task to "Butcher Animal" appears
4) Hauler takes corpse to refuse pile
5) Butcher cancels task.

-Optional-
6) Manually set Butcher Animal task
7) Butcher goes all the way to refuse pile to butcher animal.

I never had this problem before... Why are my haulers stealing butcherable corpses in the few seconds it takes my butcher to get to the task?

Because dwarves aren't awfully smart. That and I think the task's a bit buggy, if you make sure the butcher shop's next or close to the refuse stockpile for corpses, they should auto-butcher. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't try to butcher the hunter's haul if the auto-butchering's off.

I get that problem all the time, so I stick corpse stockpile around butcher's shop when I can.
