You have the men in the cavern you've now named Outpost Alpha begin assembling the teleporter quickly as possible. The dozen of them finish the task in a little less than a couple of hours, while the condition of the man wounded with an unknown venom worsens.
Outpost Alpha now has an established teleporter. To make it a more permanent site, you send over a disassembled life support system, and have half of the men in the cave begin construction. The other half immediately begin scouting the cave, because of your desperate need for power crystals.
Meanwhile, all you can do is twiddle your thumbs. Darric and Berkhardt are cooperating over the comms to identify resources, and Beigarth is running some kind of test involving chemical titration between injecting the wounded miner with adrenaline shots. You divvy about a dozen men each to repair the shipboard short-range comms and life support.
Some time passes. Dust blows in the wind of the planet's thin atmosphere. You return to your office for a break, but before too long Berkhardt runs in to meet you. "The men, they've finally found something! A few power crystals are just poking out of the walls, and there's some sort of ore in there- it's got significant various metal contents, the manufactory should be able to use it to synthesize just about whatever we need!"
Without further ado, you rush onto the balcony in the cargo hold with renewed gusto and instruct a few idle men to pass digging tools through the teleporter to the forward scouts wearing breathers. They report that the stone is soft and easy to work, and in a matter of minutes they've sent a power crystal and two units of the as-yet-unnamed ore back to the ship. As a reward, you rotate in some fresh men and tell them to take the day off. The men who were working earlier claim they saw a scorpion scuttling somewhere inside the cave and are rather glad to be aboard the ship.
Presently, men with breathers are still working to assemble to life support system in Outpost Alpha. Men are making slow but sure progress on the short range comms and shipboard life support. Morale is good, but Beigarth motions you to speak aside with him. "We have resources, finally! This is excellent. The power crystal and some ore should be all I need to make an antivenom. However, what I have is too diluted- I need a pure sample. We've got to find one of whatever bit this guy."
