Bolts out of nowhere?
« on: October 29, 2012, 05:37:58 pm »

I noticed that recently a forgotten beast was being hit by bolts/arrows in a combat report, but the text was grey (not my dwarf fighting), and there were no other combat reports. So basically it looked like arrows were flying out of nowhere to hit the thing.

Can ambushers shoot and remain stealthed?

It may be animal men shooting from an area that's unrevealed.

I have seen a cavern FB get almost killed by 'unknown' forces. After exploring the cavern and getting an easy kill from the injured FB, I found tons of Antman chitin.

Turned out to be the fact that it was using deadly dust while charging through piles of spent ammo at the entrance.

Could we use this as an anti-deadly dust defense? Strap a cat or something to a rope at a cavern edge, surround with an ammo stockpile.

Sure. Probably not practical, but what else can you do with those (+oak arrows+) you scavenged off of the elves?
