Zombies and Magma
« on: October 29, 2012, 08:21:08 pm »

So I understand that magma will not kill a zombie currently, but what will happen if I drop a zombie down a volcano? Will they just sink to the bottom and wander around in the magma sea?

I believe contact with the semi-molten rock at the bottom may obliterate it.  It does for items, at least.

Even if the magma sea had a normal floor though, it's quite a fall to the bottom, likely sufficient to de-animate the corpse, turning it into a magma-incineratable item.

Foolprooof way to penetrate aquifers of unlimited depth.  (Make sure to import at least 10 stones for mechanisms)
Toughen Dwarves by dropping stuff on them.  (Nothing too heavy though, and make sure to wear armor.)

Well I had a zombie fb revive in my garbage chute before I could pull the lever for the hatch. It just sat on the smr floor at the bottom of the magma sea for a few months. Then I got the idea to dump a bucket of water down the hatch.
