Moving immobilized dwarves (How do?)
« on: October 24, 2012, 04:33:54 pm »

exactly what it says on the tin

So I had a group of six gobbos ambush me. Five of them got snagged on the cage traps, but one got through. After a few days of punching it in the fingers, it finally went down. Unfortunately, it got in three good stabs with its pike, hitting one dwarf in the leg and breaking it, and hitting another dwarf in the stomach. They're alive, but can't move, and the latter is unconscious.

Basically, I want to put them out of their misery because medical operations aren't up and running yet and they won't be missed. The problem is, managing to get them from their current locations to the Atom Smasher. I'd rather not have to cave them in if I can avoid it.

Can you make a hospital inside lockable room with 3 beds and an atom-smasher or magma flooding system?
I don't think your dwarfes will be transported anywhere else but a hospital or coffin if they cannot walk on their own...

Designate anywhere as a hospital and they'll drag the chumps there and set them on the floor.

Sweet.

I tried setting up a Burrow and assigning them there, but that didn't work. Good to know there is, indeed, a way to sacrifice them properly.

Hospital is the way to go, but if you already have a hospital to which you don't want your dwarves taken, and don't want your current hospital patients moved, you could build your atom smasher on the square below them, then channel out the tile they lie on to drop them onto it.
