Just to give myself a challenge, I played in a terrifying biome. Just when I started, I quickly made my miners make some basic room to store my wood and food. Everything was going well until it started to rain nauseating ooze. Both my miners and farmers died. And also two hammerdwarves. Now I just have my expedition leader, who is just a proficient hammerdwarf. Now he is crawled up inside a burrow, with just a copper hammer. Now what? I can't go up because it's raining ooze and corpses are running amok. And I can't dig down because I don't have a pick. The circumstances look grim but if you guys can help me out somehow, this might be an awesome story.

Wait for the storm to settle to dismantle the wagon and pull all the food inside and hold on for dear life. And find out the dwarf was pregnant all this time, the poor child doomed to enter such a dangerous world, having hooked up with one of the miners on the way to the (to be) new Mountain Home. Just before she is poised to take her life, a migrant wave comes in, all but one making it in, the two sharing a moment of solidarity and rekindling a passion for life, and thereby building their new settlement by themselves.
