Help with DFterm

Normally I'd wait for a reply on the dfterm thread, but I'd like to get this puzzled out in the hour I have before work.

It's simple, I want to get dfterm2 to work, and I'm essentially an idiot here. I've never used an telnet wizardry, or compiled anything (which seems to be necessary), or any of that jazz.
