Dwarves not wearing certain armour types
« on: October 14, 2012, 06:28:29 pm »

My dwarves are not wearing helms, boot, or gauntlets. They had uniform tells them to specifically wear iron said items, exact match and replace clothing.
Right now they are wearing greaves, breastplate, shield, plus assorted clothing.

Why won't they wear their nice thing I make for them.

Did you set the uniform to "replace clothing" before or after you created the squad and/or assigned the uniform to the squad?

Also if you just recently assigned the uniform or produced the armor, it may be a bit before they equip it. At least in my experience, what they generally do is don a couple pieces of armor, go train, grab a couple more, go eat, etc.

Children you rescue shouldn't behave like rabid beasts.  I guess your regular companions shouldn't act like rabid beasts either.
I think that's a little more impossible than I'm likely to have time for.

They started wearing helmets but replaced their breastplate with mail shirts, instead of wearing both.

What exactly is your uniform list? Are you using the default "Metal Armor" or did you customize? And if it's custom, what do you have, item by item?

I have costume helm, breastplate, chain mail, gauntlets, helm, high boots, shields, individual weapons, all set to iron.
