Merchants won't leave??
« on: September 21, 2012, 03:33:46 pm »

For some reason the merchants aren't leaving. They arrived just fine. I have the bridge down and don't got any traps set up at all.

I uploaded some pics so you can see.

Sometimes they leave very late, just a few days before the next caravan comes. Usually that's nothing to worry about. How long have they been there?

Then it's probably ok. I often have dwarven caravans arriving in the last month of fall, then sitting there through winter to mid-spring, before the elfs come in late spring.

The more goblinite you unload on them, the longer it takes them to pack up before leaving. I've had, in a couple long running fortresses, the dwarven merchants from fall still packing up when the humans show up the next summer... As long as they're not still there because they're being prevented from leaving (no path, locked doors, etc.), they'll be fine. Chances are though, they'll head out about 30 seconds after the next siege arrives, re-donating all the stuff you just unloaded on them back into your care...
