Mysterious Job cancellation spam and deceased troglodyte

I have a couple of questions for my new fortress. I do hope this is the right place to be posting this, as it is my first time posting on the forums.

1. My dwarves keep cancelling item storing jobs because the item is inaccessible. I can't figure out what the item is. Is it possible that it is in the cave that is on my site?
2. I just flooded a room - on propose - and for some reason troglodyte blood appeared on the walls where I breached the pool, I have killed two of them for sure, but in the cave, not the murky pool. Also there are three now dead troglodytes listed in the units menu. Is it possible that they are trying to retrieve the corpse?

Any help is appreciated!

The two things are related, probably. 

When a dwarf cannot reach something, water too deep, door in way, monster scaring him off, he will begin spamming inaccessible messages.  The player must FORBID the unreachable items to shut that spam off.  I've had this happen too.  Until I figure out a way to reach the items, I forbid them.  Forbid one thing can be done, individually by labeling each item with the /F flag, this encases the word with {item}.  Or paint over an area, using the painting menu options, d,b,f.  This is often quicker.  Knutor

I looked around with k, and I looked in the stocks menu, but I couldn't find a third troglodyte corpse. I have my bookkeeper on highest precision, so if the corpse was anywhere it should show up in the stocks menu. I tried forbidding some refuse that was around my site, but that didn't work. BTW, do you think it might have something to do with the goat demon that I discovered is living in the cave?

Hmm.  Maybe the Goat killed a Trog somewhere behind the fog, and you unforbid it by accident, because it would show up in the stockpile.  It might be a tooth, or hell anything.  Try turning refuse off in orders.

I doubt the Trog blood is anything, as it splashers off anywhere. 

If you just flooded an area, its possible, the water is blocking the retrival path.  Can you unflood it, by running the water to a drain(smoothed-fortified wall), on the map edge?  Once that water level drops, they should be able to pick up what they couldn't. 

A dwarf may have an arm off, sunken on the far side, down there.  Or lost his shield, or something...  Hmm.  Good luck, Knutor

Well, I still don't know what it is they were trying to stockpile, but turning off the "dwarves gather refuse" order seems to have stopped them from having an inaccessible item. Thank you! :D
While we are on the subject, what should I do about the Goat Demon? I mean he's just sitting there, should I leave him alone? Or should I take the Dwarfy route and make a bunch of weapons and armor and attack him? :)

Good question.  Someone more knowledgable, prolly knows.  I don't see many Goat Demons.  I play within Lucas's Lazy Newb Pack world, and they have Demons set to 0, in Worldgen.  I roll up Advanced Worldgens suitable to Fortress play.  The defaults work well with Adventure mode, but are killers in Fortress mode.

20 some Vampire curses is 20 too many.  And all those Towers!!!  *shiver*  That's for the experts, IMO.

If he's just hovering around on the magma, I'd let him alone, til last thing.  Fight a few goblin waves, and make enemies with the elves, before ya pop hell and face Demons.  That's usually 'game over', from what I heard.  Never actually done it, myself.
