*Spoiler* diplomat (not a clown)
« on: September 06, 2012, 10:12:40 am »

I had a diety diplomat come into my tantruming fortress.  He crawled into the passageway and then got offended
Without any liquid available I figured it wouldn't come to anything, but it was odd as anything.

And his description said "beware his Spittle"
I can just see him talking to the dwarves and them frantically wiping their faces and trying to dodge his spittle as he negotiates.

This is correct, and can be confirmed by finding the clown in legends mode. It'd be more accurate to call this "*Spoiler* diplomat (totally not a clown, honest)". :P

Actually it's probably a Clown that convinced the gobbies it was a diety.  But that's nitpicking.

Why couldn't it reach my fortress enterance before becoming upset?

You got a diplomat from the goblin civ?

Did your mayor die or go into a strange mood? Thats usually the reason why diplomat leave.

Sorry, for a moment there I forgot we were all psychopaths.

I'm pretty sure demons don't bother tricking gobbos, but just fight their way to the top. I've never heard of a goblin diplomat: if you look at their trade caravans, its clear you aren't meant to be on friendly relations.

Clowns can trick human civs that they're gods; they then occasionally arrive as diplomats. How nice of them to personally come to negotiate trade agreements...
