So here I am, starting a new adventurer when in a human fortress I encounter something incredible, something I have never seen before; a human drunk.

I'm playing with the vanilla game, completely un-modded (except for the Mayday tileset). Are these guys just incredibly rare? Do they serve any purpose? Can I get into bar fights with them? I hope so.
So now that he's adventuring with me I shall have the mettle of Oņi Ashikel. Will he survive the trials to come? Will he betray me to further his own nefarious plans? Let's find out.

Unfortunately, our dear companion Oņi Ashikel has been struck down by a goblin vampire, Dostngosp Sadsmunstu Alumzuspu, in his pursuit of justice. May be forever be remembered.

I've seen it in the raws, But I've never seen a case of it. I think it may just be a human peasant, but Honestly I have no clue.

Iv seen this before in a Fort, but at the time I thought it was commonplace. I don't know what causes it, I wouldent think you would certain skills to be a "drunk". Mabye just a tag givin to peasants at random?

Drunks were more common in old versions of DF, where they often made up starting adventuring parties due to being easy to recruit. Toady turned down their occurrence at some point, probably when we lost the mead halls in adventuring mode.

Drunks were more common in old versions of DF, where they often made up starting adventuring parties due to being easy to recruit. Toady turned down their occurrence at some point, probably when we lost the mead halls in adventuring mode.

There was a point in which drunks were your most viable companions since soldiers would generally tell you to piss off till you kill a Minotaur. So generally your first excursions were with a horde of drunken babbling sods being led into a cave to be slaughtered for your glory.

Even if they're elves, they're infinity more dwarven then normal dwarves.

I have one in my old 31.25 save, a head of the human civ (Iquimong) is a Lord/Drunk.
He hasn't shown up yet though, even though I used fix diplomat.

Drunks come out of every race, from my experience.
