Question regarding fortress traps

When you visit your old fort as an adventurer, will your character be taken out by the traps even if he is a dwarf of the same (I think) civilization?

I just got a mental image of a dwarf getting stuck in a cave trap put down by his grandfather and eventually starving to death.....EPIC

Tragic.

Stone traps, weapon traps, pressure plates, levers and spikes can all be interacted with by the adventurer (with often brutal consequences). Cage traps however are disabled.
I assume if you play as a trap avoid creature traps won't affect you.

Just a note but this is editable in d_init.txt, under the [ADVENTURER_TRAPS:YES] setting.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

You can detect thr traps before triggering them.(depending of your observer skill). Detected traps don't trigger.

In a hole in the ground there lived a dwarf. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a dwarf fortress, and that means magma.
