Paint Aquifer tiles
« on: August 24, 2012, 12:43:52 pm »

My cavern water is conspicuously low, and may actually run out before fortress death. No rivers, so I was wondering if any util will allow me to paint an aquifer tile so I can make this cave lake refill itself?

Did you know that the Russian word for "sock" is "no sock"?
I just saw a guy with two broken legs push a minecart with a corpse in it. Yeah.

see dfhack liquids command

But that just drops water, doesn't it? I was hoping for consistent flow for some purposes.

Interesting, that should be possible through a dfhack style script.  But im not sure anyone ever wrote that.

Nope, my bad.  peregarrett was right.  You can create a river source using dfhack liquids.  I guess you put it in a channel somewhere and it flows you a river....dunno.  Save, backup the save, and test it out

You did this? I'll do some testing, tonight, but I'd like to know anyone else's results.

River sources pour out water, yes. Just remember where you put them - there's no way to remove them, that I'm aware of.

I believe if you cast a river source into obsidian then it removes it, but I'm going on hearsay their (never having had the reason to remove a river anyways).

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!
