How do I get my marksdwarves to use the archery range?

I have it up and everything, it's on train, there squad is activiated, yet nobody will put on there uniform and walk in the room.

It's SUPER WONKY at the moment.

Marksdwarf !Science!

I was all excited at first... then it all stopped working again.  As others have mentioned in other threads, live target "practice" is the best (4X the xp per shot).
