Custom stockpile stopped working
« on: August 15, 2012, 01:20:06 pm »

Hi,

I have noticed that all my custom stockpile stopped working out of nowhere, by this I mean that no dwaft will ever put anything in them. I tried change the barrel value, either 0, max, in between. I checked my orders to make sure I was allowing hauling stuff.

I tested individual stockpiles, they all work fine.

I figured my current game might be bugged so I abandonned and started again, to have the same exact problem in my newly created fortress ( but same world ).

Is this an option somewhere or is it a bug?

Thanks

What kind of items are not being hauled? Are the items that you want hauled already in a stockpile?

The current scenario I'm testing is the initial custom stockpile, that includes everything except refuse, stone, wood and corpses. Items are in the caravan right now and will not be moved unless I make a cloth stockpile, then only cloth will be moved, but a custom that includes everything will not work.

Sorry if this is insulting but are you pressing "c" after you back out of the custom settings to switch to "custom stockpile" before you create it?

Yes I am, I checked that myself many times with "q" to inspect the settings, everything was properly enabled.

Since there is stone included in your settings then it probably added 1 wheelbarrow to the stockpile. If you don't have a wheelbarrow then this is your problem.

Edit: Noticed you said stone is not activated.....I'm officially stumped.

There are a currently large number of bugs related to hauling that make things just sort of 'stop working forever' under certain (often incredibly specific) conditions.  I've not figured out what most of these conditions are (like walls built near ramps making dwarves pants-on-head retarded), but boy do I run into them a lot.

I encountered this bug and sorted it by making normal stockpiles but then just changing their properties.
