Mountainhalls as neighbors

Well, title says it. On the neighbors screen during embark, three or four mountainhomes -along with two towers - show up as neighbors seperate from the dwarves.
What will happen if I embark there? How did this happen during worldgen?

I think that that's a mountainhome conquered by another necromancer or something.

You'll get zombie liasons that will demand brains and not much else.
