Interesting or Entertaining Migrants
« on: August 04, 2012, 03:17:49 pm »

So, I recently started a new fortress and in my third migrant wave the outpost liaison from the previous autumn showed up. It appears Shorast was so impressed with the place she decided to live there.  I guess this also  pretty much proves the liaisons no longer die when they leave your map after negotiating the trade agreement between your fortress and the mountainhome.

The outpost liaison Shorast Zuglarasol from Kosoth Idor has arrived.
A caravan from Kosoth Idor has arrived.

So, what entertaining or interesting migrants have the rest of you gotten recently?

Zepave Dawnhogs the Butterfly of Vales the Marsh Titan ... was taken out by a single novice axedwarf and his pet war kitten. Long Live Domas Etasastesh Adilloram, slayer of the snow butterfly!
Doesn't quite have the ring of heroics to it...
Mother: "...and after the evil snow butterfly was defeated, Domas and his kitten lived happily ever after!"
Kids: "Yaaaay!"

I had one who is both rebellious and dislikes order and respects the law.

Aren't those opposites?

I recently had a migrant who favored goblin children as pets (WAT)
so I shoved him in a room full of goblin wrestlers

!!SCIENCE!!

The amount of malice in this thread is actually causing me some concern. I mean, chaining up mothers and forcing them to breed, just so we can drown their children to harvest their organs? Does this strike no one else as absolutely horrific?
You misspelled 'hilarious'

I once appointed a sheriff early on in one of my forts after therapist recommended him for the position, after some time I opened his character screen and read that he "revels in chaos and disorder".

I don't know about unicorns, but back in .95, one of my PA soldiers was diagnosed with power armor. I drew a fairly good picture about it, but my science project (a bunny) pissed all over it.

I'm not sure if I can find them again, or if they stilll live but I've had a few with seemingly contradictory traits too.

Like "Lives for excitement. Totally averse to risk" ...so...i guess it would hate fighting but love rollercoasters?

The version of Therapist that comes with Masterwork mod does, it shows castes and recommended roles (based on unit attributes and personality).
In Therapist weaker dwarves are recommended for hammerer and sheriff roles.

Not really as important for assigning general labors as it is for picking the weakest link to hand out punishments that don't outright kill the alleged criminal.
