Captured Minotaur Trophy

I spent most of the time on my new map building a system of moats and draw bridges, and a minotaur appeared and snuck right into my fort and started wrecking people.  After killing about 8 dwarves, he stepped on a cage trap!

How fortuitous. 

I figured out how to have him stockpiled in the grand dining hall, will he excite everyone?

Also, will insane dwarves release him?

I'm also interested in finding out about moat construction: is a 1 tile depth insufficient?  I've noticed my dwarves have been flying down the streams as well.  This fort is a mess.  I probably won't tantrum spiral over the dead babies, but its going to be an ugly year.  I cannot find ANY metal despite the claim of both shallow and deep ores, and now I can barely produce enough goods to get any from the traders!

Shallow and deep ores just means stone veins. It could as well just be microline. If you embark near volcanoes you will have less ores i think.

You should perhaps "build" the cage he's in, b-j-x and then select the cage.
