Just found this on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRCEre8hjTc&feature=g-vrec

Official website:

http://star-conflict.com/en/

What we know
Control-wise, it plays well with mouse and keyboard. Joystick is not needed at all. Just like the good ol' Freelancer.

Battles are instanced, so you press "Fight" and you jump straight into battle, similar to World of Tanks. You gain XP and credits (and loot to be implemented) after it is over.

Three classes of spacecraft (thanks to ukulele)
Fighter: Fast and agile, the Empire variant can travel at warp speed for a small time.
Intercepor: Middle point, empire version has an "overdrive" mod that improves firerate.
Gunboat: Slow and heavy armed, empire version has a "sniper" does big damage at distances of up to 10k(m?/k?).

There are multiple ships for each class and you can customise individual ship loadouts.

Three factions
Empire aka the "status quo".
Federation of Free Planets aka the rebel.
Jericho aka genetically engineered humans who were once banished from Earth and now have come back for revenge.

The game tutorial is currently in Russian, although the menu is in English. A lot of text descriptions are missing. It's open beta after all so I am okay with that.

Since information about this game is sparse, I will add keep on adding into the list.

Also I must say I am really digging the styiling of the ships!

After watching the video I'm struggling to figure out how someone who's ever played EVE would think this game is like it at all, it's a very misleading title, and the only similarity I saw was that they're both in space with ships shooting each other.

Now that my little rant is over, it actually looks kinda like World of Tanks, with it's round based, no-respawn battles. But that's all I can tell from the video, since it's in Russian, and I do not speak their language.

As a player of EVE, I can safely say this is nothing like EVE at all.

Looks more like a freelancer deathmatch maybe? With some kind of item and skill customization?

Yeah, this looks like a dogfighting game, which EVE was not. Nonetheless, relevant to my interests.

My bad, you guys are right about this game looking more like World of Tanks/Freelancer. I wanted to mention World of Tanks in the title but because this game does not have instant battle, but open world, I said EVE instead. Anyway, edited the thread title. :P

Anyway, download is finished and will fire it up now. Let's see what this is all about.

So far what I know are as follow (which I believe are in their FAQ section too):
There are three classes of spacecraft: Interceptor, Fighter, Gunboat
There are three factions: Empire (aka status quo), Federation of Free Planets (aka Rebel), Jericho (aka people banished from Earth who comes back for revenge with genetically engineered bodies, sound similar to Sins of Solar Empire?)

Been playing a little, and yes its basically world of tanks on space. Of the 3 factions named by Buri, the Jericho dont seem to be aviable.
About the ships:
Fighter: Fast and agile, the Empire variant can travel at warp speed for a small time.
Intercepor: Middle point, empire version has an "overdrive" mod that improves firerate.
Gunboat: Slow and heavy armed, empire version has a "sniper" does big damage at distances of up to 10k(m?/k?).

The game is playable but it looks like a bunch of feautures are missing, arround 200 people online almost guarantee you will have bots on your game and basically all the tutorial is in russian, also 90% of the community seem to be from russia.
You gain credits and exp after battle, credits to buy new ships, equipment and exp for skills.
