A newcomer's question
« on: July 21, 2012, 02:30:37 pm »

Could someone explain what I need to change in the raws in order to make dragon eggs hatch? Also, what is the quickest way to get dragon hatchlings (full-growns would be too OP, altough intriguing) available at embark? I'm looking for some universal rule for this, so I can experiment with other stuff as well. Also, I need to make them very expensive, so if anyone could tell me how to access the price I would greatly appreciate it.

If he already tamed 2 dragons, I don't think he'd need to add [COMMON_DOMESTIC] would he? Does it control more than just if the civ has knowledge of the creature and if they have the appropriate token to use [COMMON_DOMESTIC] creatures, use them as starting creatures.

Really no way to make it hatchling only.

COMMON_DOMESTIC to let any male breed with any female, otherwise just having 1 male and 1 female wont guarantee fertile eggs unless they're a mated pair.

CHILD tag to a lower value so that they mature faster

So, the "10" means years, right? A hatching time that long would be certainly a good option, it would balance the fact that there's a dragon army on the way. Regarding the hatchling/fledgling thingy, how come there are "child" versions of the traditional domestic animals? Or is that a feature that is inaccessible? Also, will those tags interfere with invading behaviour of the dragons? Because I really want them to keep attacking me as well.

I've decided to instead make a new dragon type, "Domestic Dragon" or something like that. Can I just copy the dragon raw and make a few changes to that? Will this break anything? Also, I'd like to make it a little weaker than a wild dragon, any quick tips on how to do this? Is there a single "strenght" tag there somewhere?

The size of the creature pretty much directly influences its strength in melee combat. Lower the value and you'll have a less powerful creature.
