Dwarves not using stockpile for artifacts.
« on: July 12, 2012, 11:24:56 am »

I made a stockpile for artifacts, but the dwarves haven't put anything in it yet. My fort only has one artifact, a lead war hammer called Helpbleaches, if that helps.

Is it assigned to your military?

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Weapons go into the main stockpile, but not artifacts because I edited the settings. Also, a mechanic made another artifact, Spoilcaves the Waxes of Winnowing. It hasn't been put into the artifact stockpile either.

What are the exact settings on your stockpile? Are you allowing different item types as well as artifact-quality items?

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

A lead warhammer seems like it could be quite good, unless lead is too soft? This would be like a mega-silver warhammar.

If you make an Artifact stockpile, make sure you enable Artifact for both "Core Quality" and "Overall Quality" under each different category. Also, you need to enable the proper item types and materials, as well as the "local"/"foreign" options where appropriate.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
