Open the door, or set it off forbidden.  I just had my Human Trader go berserk on me, because I locked him inside my fort, too long.  You might have a similar issue there.  Sincerely, Knutor

Traders do that.  Diplomats can stick around for many seasons patiently waiting to have a meeting with the fortress leader.

Hes following my legendary sworddwarf... he can leave when he wants
he left unhappy
