shallow vs deep metal
« on: July 11, 2012, 08:35:03 am »

So how is this done exactly? Will these be different layers? Will I find tetrahedrite on top and hematite below for example? Will it be the same? Is it random?

"Deep metals" tend to be galena (lead) taetrahedrite/copper, gold/silver; the really good stuff (different iron ores, coal/lignite) are always shallow. I've been playing a year and have only ever seen iron/coal on the top 10-15 levels.

there is a tiny chance to have iron deep down, but it's most commonly found in sedimentary layers, which are shallow layers. I think coal and lignite are only found in these layers. Additionally, most flux stones are sedimentary layer stones.
