Drink barrels not being taken to food stockpiles?

So basically I decided it would be nice to have a one-square stockpile in each bedroom for drink and another for food. That way I could look at the rooms and instantly see if there was enough food/drink for everybody.  Only it doesn't work.

The first barrels were delivered to each room with no problem, but the empty barrels aren't taken away (I do have a stockpile for barrels elsewhere). Also the food and drink I produce isn't being delivered to the dwarves' rooms. Presumably because the empty barrels are in the way? I've got nine barrels full of alcohol in the still room and an empty barrel in every bedroom.

Any suggestions?

Like I said, the food and drink I produce isn't being delivered to the dwarves' rooms.  The full barrels of drink pile up next to the still and food gets left in the kitchen. :-(

[EDIT] My mistake.  It's only the drink that has the problem.

scroll over the pile press q and change min barrels to 0

Oops. I think I've found the problem.  Rather obvious in retrospect. OK, I'm an idiot - all the food was being delivered to the nearest barrel (currently has 15 prepared meals in it).
