Steam monster

So I have a forgotten beast in my fortress made of steam. Is there anyway i can kill it?

Send someone with swords/axes. They'll kill it easily.

Oh good. I have heard of unkillable monsters and I was not sure if this was one of them.

Unkillable monsters tend to be "blob" type ones or anything made out of a hard metal (i.e. steel, iron, or rock). If something is made out of anything weird like steam, water, or blood then you can pretty much punch it to death if you wanted to.

one of my first beasts ever was made of steam and could fly. I was kind of panicking when it attacked a dog and got bitten in half.

After all, when you got to wonder: how does it stay together. In the case of metal or stone, quite well. A monster made from vomit... maybe less so

Indeed, monsters made of steam, vomit, snow, anything like that will fall apart from an unskilled dwarf's punch. Invincible snow blob forgotten beasts don't exist anymore, luckily. But iron blobs...

once i have a steam pegasus attack my fort. my recruit kicked it once and killed it.

worst fight ever.
