SOLVED How to remove workshops/walls

hi im a total noob to dwarf fortress but know how to mine,chop trees etc
but when i placed a workshop and tried to put floor uder it
it didnt work so i looked all over the internet this forum everywhere
but coudnt find how to remove workshops or walls but i know how to remove floors

any help?

EDIT:
sorry, i just found that pressing q,x deletes what ever is highlighted

Constructed walls are removed in the same way as constructed floors: (d)esignate -> (n) remove construction
Natural walls must be mined out: (d)esignate -> (d) mine

Removing workshops, and any other building, is done through that building's context menu. Press (q), move the cursor so the workshop is targeted and then press (x) to set it for deconstruction. This creates a job for a dwarf to come and tear it down.
