After having every last one of my companions murdered in a temple dungeon on the north side of the city by a chieftess (ironically, these are the same soldiers that killed two minotaur just a while back), I went to the town square to see if I could recruit. No soldiers were there. And night was falling so I was at a loss for what to do.

The open marketplace was right outside so I walked out there and took a 6 hour nap.

About one hour into that I woke up because some cackling was filling the air. I knew the bogeymen were after me, I took a step towards the door, then I realized I wouldn't need to hide this night.

I stood in place and watched 30+ dwarven merchants descend upon the gang of bogeymen and murder them outright. No weapons, just wrestling them to death.

This happen to anyone else?

Having unleashed hordes of undead on a massive goblin ambush, apparently, with enough numbers, wrestlers will beat even armed and armored soldiers. Raising everything that dropped to the ground, of course, helped win that battle.
