In where I find alternative uses for the decapitated heads of my enemies (large images, sorry about the shitty quality, done in mspaint). I posted this elsewhere in the forum, but it might have been the wrong board, but I don't know how to move it, so here is a re-post. Sorry.  :-[

They decided to leave my fortress via the circus because the front door was locked to keep Goblins out.  THAT should be an interesting trip back to the Mountainhome.

He lopped it off, took the head, and reanimated it.

Exactly! In fact, I discovered that you can keep re-animating a body and lopping of parts, all throwable and reanimateable. Its a child size army and ammunition bundle all in one that can fit right in your backpack!  :P

Anyway, I just bought back the body from the mother for a short while, took it outside the town and reanimated it and lopped the head of, re-killed it and then sold her back the headless body and then wandered around to find the rest of her children to throw the head at and re-animate.

Wait, how did the mother not start attacking you? You killed part of her civ. :/

Simple; in town they don't register who re-animated corpses. I simply surrounded the child with corpses, reanimated them and let them have a go at the child. There where a bunch of adults nearby and I only revived a limited number of corpses so they quickly dispatched the corpses but the child got severely wounded. Then I waited a hour for the adults to wander away and surrounded the child with corpses again. Rinse and repeat until the child died (the mother did indeed go into a rage when he died).

Then I took the corpse and sold it too the mother so I could hear her shouting the qualities of her sons dead body in an attempt to sell it to me.

Then I bought it back because I wanted the head and bought it outside the town, just in case they would have a problem with me attacking the corpse.

Now that you mentioned it, the child that I threw the head at actually attacked me first. I was sneaking around to train it a little and then the child spotted me and hit me! I decided I might as well use this opportunity to grab some screen-shots of actually throwing heads and re-animating them, it was part of the reason I was sneaking around anyway. The game crashed shortly after because I was dicking around with screen capping and whatnot.

Maybe they did not like the fact I chopped the head of the corpse? Are re-animated corpses still part of a civ?

I did that once, but with a different method and motive. I would first defeat my opponent, then finish them off with a jaguar skull, and drink the blood off of it. Can't quite remember how that adventurer died, must've been skull related though.
Also, you can heat your water with a campfire :P

Too true lol. While it's no where near as fun as drinking the blood of your foes, you can always fill your empty water skin with snow and then heat it at a fire for water.
