Changing item wear levels?
« on: June 11, 2012, 11:32:25 am »

I have used the tool that allows you to set the item quality levels for pretty much everything. I have a question regarding wear levels. Is there a script that will allow one to change the item wear levels? say to reset the wear on the candy cloak Urist McBraindead crafted? Thanks for all of your assistance. It is greatly greatly appreciated.

If that tool is DFHack, then yes - changing item wear is just as easy as changing item quality.

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

And can you change quality level of engravings and buildings?

It does not appear that using the changeitem tool in dfhack allows engravings or buildings to be changed, only moveable items as far as i can tell, armor, food, clothes, tables, beds, etc.

If you can write a Lua script, you can change almost anything - take a look at the example scripts, then look at the various struct/class definitions to see where the relevant properties are located.
