I have a dwarf that I can't edit labours with Dwarf Therapist...

This dwarf arrived with a migrant wave and in Dwarf Therapist his name is bolded (as if he's military, although he's not), and I can't edit his labours.
Does that mean he's a vampire?

unless therapist changed, no. What image does the dwarf have on your map and how does he/she show up in your units screens? might be trader bug - a former guard for a trader migrating to the fort and bugging out

He may be a ghost. I've had this happen as well, and it kind of weirded me out.

He shows up as purple in the unit list, and he isn't a ghost, either, as far as I can tell...

He's a very skilled weapon user, some Lord or Master. You can't assign jobs for those when they are active military, and activating them at any time will inactivate all their jobs.

Yeah, he was called Master Something. But his most notable skill is 3 in Marksdwarf =/
That's not very "Masterly"

So I guess since I can't assign him any labours he's only useful as military?

Is he listed as "friendly"?  If so he could be a guard from a previous caravan that visited you, in which case he'll be bugged.

Bug #5098: "Friendly" migrants with Trader profession act like on-the-job merchants

If you can assign him a nickname through Dwarf Therapist and it shows up ingame, hes not a vampire so whatever else you're good.
Consider two things though: First off if indeed it's semi bugged and hes treating himself like a master , he will pretty much only train now. Which means if you need a military dwarf he's a good pick.
Second point, if you dont need one... well.... he's so new people wont even notice if he disapears...  ;)
