It is finding flux.  It is there.  You just have to press the key to show it.   :D
It is finding the flux, but even in a single-biome embark it may not show it. Just last night I had this issue: I found a single-biome 4x3 embark but it didn't list flux on the screen, but I had flux set to "yes."

If you can reproduce this, I'd very much like to see the worldgen and embark. I've tried, with great attention to detail, to reproduce exactly what you're describing, and failed.  I have never, in any 34.x release, seen the finder fail to find and show flux as expected.  It would be great to reproduce it, if there's a bug with this.

Keep in mind, if you move or resize the embark area after the finder is done, you're not using what the finder found.  Not saying that's what happened, just something to be aware of when trying to control the conditions.

I'm not sure if I'm being completely clear, but the finder is finding existing flux; the embark screen simply doesn't list it. I belive it has to do with the depth and layers, but I'm not sure. It tends to happen to me quite often.

Right, I understand, but I want to see it. :)  Can you give me a worldgen and embark location that demonstrates what you're describing?

Every single world I have genned has had iron ore, all over the place. Every one of them. They have all had flux, too. Lots of flux, mostly marble but every other kind, too. Perhaps people are looking in the wrong places for flux and iron. You need to look in low volcanism areas for all iron except hematite, and for all flux except marble.

The idea that mineral scarcity 100 worlds have no flux is a myth. It is one of those things that was said, never verified, and repeated every single time this question comes up. Mineral scarcity 100 worlds can have lots of flux. You just need to make sure there are plenty of low volcanism areas.

Actually I have the same problem: site finder shows no flux by telling me only partial candidates are available. DFHack prospect shows flux is available in the form of chalk and limestone.
