So the only modding I did was renaming the ores and turning off any exotic animal tags to just [PET].

Oh and Modded out Aquifers....

So imagine my surpprise when for the first time I didn't accidently cancel the screen for choosing a Baron, I select one and in the next season I notice a whole host of new nobles!

So..... has anyone else had nobles which I thought were "turned off" turn up? Or has Toady suddenly enabled them all?.... or maybe this is a bug only on linux and thats why not many people have had it?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

It'd be nice to have a Tax Collector.

I'd assign the Dwarf with the least friends so he can be even more reviled.

Toady fixed a bug so that baron can actually appoint nobles as they are in the raws.

Save is imported from older version where DM  &al were still in the raws and got carried over with the save.

It's that simple, really.

I'm running 34.08 on linux and just had a baronness appointed, and I'm seeing a champion, but no DM or tax collector. This world was genned on 34.08. I think Kumquat has the correct answer.

Have them killed. Nothing solves a problem quite as effectively as simply having it killed.

I once shot a bear in the eye with a bow on the first shot, cut it up, found another one, and shot it in the eye too. The collective pile of meat weighed more than my house.

Yep.  You see this if you take a world genned in an older version and import it to the current version, or if you have modded entity raws that still have those positions.  You can assign the tax collector and dungeon master, but they don't actually do anything - the economy is still disabled, and the complete rework of the exotic animal taming system has made the DM obsolete.

There was recent thread like this, the guy had a tileset, which is also a mod.  Too lazy and full of ham to search for it.

Didn't use tileset unless that includes the changed font?

As for "no modding" - no modding other than exactly what I've personally done. Nothing out side of my own control.

Perhaps he should have phrased it 'no modding that could potentially in any reality have had any impact whatsoever on the subject at hand'...
As, you know, that's so much easier to write.
