OK so the question is - bone porcelain is realistic but that's not important because this is not a life simulator... while farms and other things should be changed because that's not realistic? :) ..... Sorry if it sound offensive:) I am merely proposing a new feature and you pointed that clay should be changed as it is infinite. So bone porcelain fits there pretty well i think.

That's not what I'm saying, I'm saying that the game mechanisms that would be needed for something like bone china to make sense just aren't in the game.

Bone china is only used when you can't make a kiln hot enough for porcelain, because it is fired at a lower temperature.  There is no such concept in DF as it stands, however.

Also, what I want is for soil to be finite, instead of having completely infinite glass and clay.  Something like that takes soil walls not vaporizing on contact with a pick, and for concepts from Volume and Mass to be instituted, however, so we aren't using a full tile's worth of resources to make a single cup.

I'm saying the problem is bone china, as you presented it, isn't realistic enough, not that realism doesn't matter.

Personally, I like [DF] because after climbing the damned learning cliff, I'm too elitist to consider not liking it.

I think we have a problem of many things being not realistic enough:) Especially with infinite sand/clay and such:)
